Donald Trump is an illegitimate president and should have been disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which states that no person who swore an oath to the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” may hold office. The only reason Trump is in power is because the Supreme Court and Congress abdicated their duties and failed to enforce that constitutional bar - not because he was ever morally or constitutionally cleared.
Further, Jack Smith later testified: “Donald Trump is the person who caused January 6,” that the violence “was foreseeable to him,” and that he “sought to exploit the violence.” Smith’s final report also said the evidence was sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction if not for the DOJ policy against prosecuting a sitting president.
Now Trump has drawn us into an illegal war on behalf of genocidal war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu. Current reporting says the Pentagon is sending about 2,500 Marines and the USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship to the region. And if your defense is, “this isn’t a war, it’s a military operation,” fuck you. Seriously. Tell that to the families of the girls killed in the strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab on the first day of the U.S.-Israeli assault on Iran. It was a Tomahawk.
This is not leadership. It’s constitutional failure, moral cowardice, and another attempt to dress death up in procedural language. Congress should stop it. The public should reject it. And we should stop pretending that this is normal.
